iOS VS Android

Written by Julia Perez
In today’s society the need for a smartphone is a standard demand. While there are several different
platforms to choose from the most popular are actually iOS and Android. Many dispute topics like screen size and device sizes, however everyone’s needs are quite different. What one might believe is a better the other person might have a different idea. However one can choose from either of these systems, the answer is quite simple actually. While Android devices tend to be cheaper and more common they are actually quite difficult to learn and very few people actually to use these devices to their full advantage. iOS devices are actually very user friendly and allow any to pick up on device within a couple of minutes.
The overall design for both systems is very different while Apples phone designs are made up of glass and heavier materials. Many of Androids designs are actually mostly made of plastic and lighter materials. Android’s phones are very known for having bigger screens many find this very enjoyable with more space to take photos or view videos. As hard as it is to argue with bigger screen do keep in mind that a bigger phone takes up more space and doesn’t fit easily in your pocket. After all cellphones are portable devices that should go anywhere easily without causing any issue.
Apple Inc is very much known for introducing new apple products every year, although many argue that new products are an inconvenience and very expensive. However many don’t know that the older models are still updated even after the new models have been released. Android on the other hand has their software system with various different companies and newer models are released every three to six months. Sometimes new software updates don’t accommodate several of their phones causing a disturbance with their users. According to gottabemobile.com “Galaxy S3 users are reporting several Android 4.3 update problems including battery life drain”. So say if you decided to go on a road trip
with your family and decide to hand your child your phone for an hour or two as a form of distraction, would that phone even last two hours of game play? Keep in mind that these new cellular devices aren’t only meant for calling and keeping in touch from anywhere but now they are used for so much more. A phone that expensive should last you for a couple of hours.
While Android gives you the liberty to be more customizable with your phone this can sound like a great feature. However numerous people aren’t quite tech savvy and often don’t use many of the great features available on their phones. So while having that amazing Panorama feature on your Samsung Galaxy S3 it is quite uncommon to hear of anyone actually using it. While Apple’s iOS system doesn’t allow you to customize your phone to your own liking the system is very user friendly and intuitive. According to Sacbee.com, LeapFrog has recently released a new app that introduces children to writing. “This new app toy has received awards from the Parents' Choice Foundation”. Children as small as three years old are able to quickly pick up on how to use iPhones. This makes Apple’s system very easily learnable. Overall it is up to one to choose what kind of phone will correctly fulfill their needs. Choosing an Android phone would be more ideal for those needs more space and a better grip while choosing IOS would be more ideal for someone who doesn’t need so much customization but will still enjoy the easy but still usable and advanced simplicity of an iPhone.
Overall it seems that Android devices still have a lot of work to do in order to improve their devices. They release all these new devices with new features that aren’t properly functioning and full of glitches. While Apple Inc continues to release devices that are properly working and at the same time very user friendly for anyone.
